About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Seda North America Inc. as a Thermoforming Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our thermoforming equipment to produce high-quality plastic products for the food packaging industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Adjust machine components to regulate speed, pressure, temperatures, amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks according to established procedures and ensure all standards are being met.
  • Material Verification: Examine, measure, and weigh materials or product to verify conformance to standards using measuring devices such as templates, micrometers, or scales.
  • Machine Maintenance: Monitor machine operations and observe light and gauges to detect malfunctions. Verify that parameters set on the machine are correct for each specific product and material, adjusting when corrections during production runs are necessary.
  • Record Keeping: Record and maintain data related to downtime, including amount of time, reason for downtime, and actions to correct the problem.
  • Waste Management: Keep all waste and scrap levels within company guidelines.
  • Production Data: Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced.
  • Quality Notification: Notify supervisors when produced materials fail to meet standards.
  • Facility Maintenance: Keep work area clean, organized, and free of debris to maintain a safe facility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow all HACCP and good manufacturing practices (GMP's), as well as environmental and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Extrusion lines process, Thermoforming Machinery Process, and Regrinding systems. Ability to perform small Electrical/Mechanical maintenance independently. Superior trouble-shooting skills, quick learning aptitude, strong math skills, mechanical aptitude, and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Education and Experience: Associate Degree preferred, minimum 3 to 5 years of experience.
