Job Summary

The Environmental Services (EVS) Lead position at Titus Regional Medical Center is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping and floor maintenance operations in assigned areas. This role serves as a resource and expert for staff, creating a safe environment for patient care and assisting in the development of team members' skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist EVS technicians in stocking cleaning carts and provide guidance on proper cleaning procedures.
  • Collaborate with the EVS Manager to train staff and develop their skills.
  • Ensure the proper disinfection of equipment and supplies using approved disinfectants.
  • Clean and maintain patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Observe and maintain precautions to protect patients, guests, and staff.
  • Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Polish silver accessories and metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Submit work orders for repairs.
  • Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions.
  • Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas.
  • Assign duties to other staff and provide instructions on work methods and routines.
  • Perform and document daily room audits.
  • Lead by example and model the attributes of TRMC Leadership.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a positive work demeanor.
  • Follow and adhere to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Requirements
  • Five years of experience in environmental services and/or acute care related service departments preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
