Job SummaryThe Admissions Specialist is responsible for providing operations support for the Admissions function. This includes data input and processing, phone and email-based customer support, admissions event support, and front desk customer relations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all data entry tasks from prospective student inquiry to applicant stage, including event registration, inquiries, applications, supporting documents, and records maintenance.
- Process all applications and supporting documentation in a timely manner and communicate specific needs of prospective students to admissions counselors and enrollment managers.
- Provide sales support to admissions counselors and yield teams as needed, including working admissions events, conducting outreach, and advising students and families on phone, email, and in-person.
- Interact with prospective students, families, and educators, communicating key CIA selling messages.
- Answer the Admissions Inquiry/Application phone line and provide unsurpassed customer service for all three CIA campus locations by assisting prospective students, parents, and educators with various admissions-based questions, concerns, and issues from the inquiry to applicant stage.
- Provide reception-desk coverage, including welcoming and coordinating guest-traffic, students, and staff, answering the main Admissions phone line, maintaining the appearance of the reception lobby, and maintaining copies of printed materials.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Associate's Degree or significant work experience in lieu of an Associate Degree.
- Minimum of two years experience working in higher education, student services, or in a related, professional customer service role or high-volume data entry role.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Previous experience in Higher Education, Admissions, or Financial Aid departments.
- Self-starter who can work independently and as a team.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills required.
- Ability to conduct presentations with professionalism and confidence.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to greet all guests of the CIA in a hospitable manner.
- Ability to collaborate with other department members and work effectively with various aspects of the college community.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Strong computer experience, including abilities to work effectively with the internet, data entry, and MS Office suite products.
- Ability to reinforce our commitment to the customer.
- Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Must be able to work overtime on nights and weekends as required by business needs.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds of admissions recruitment material.
- Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for extended periods.
- Regular work requires the use of a computer, sometimes in excess of eight hours per day.
