AIR IMPORT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Company: FreightTAS LLC

Work Schedule: 08:30 am to 05:30 pm, Monday to Friday (overtime may be required)

Compensation: $60,000 to $75,000 annually

Experience Requirements: Minimum five years in air and ocean import operations and freight forwarding, with at least 1-3 years in a supervisory role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Import Manager in overseeing daily operations and management of the import division.
  • Review and process documentation for a designated portfolio of accounts, ensuring accurate data entry into the system.
  • Monitor and track FCL, LCL, and AIR shipments through various transportation modes.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers to guarantee timely ISF filings and customs clearance.
  • Provide customers with proactive updates regarding shipment status, arrival, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage shipments from pre-alert receipt to final delivery.
  • Handle 50-75 files monthly, including complex shipments and high-profile clients.
  • Coordinate with COD customers to confirm payment prior to delivery.
  • Work with trucking companies to ensure punctual deliveries.
  • Negotiate vendor rates as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain various reports and spreadsheets.
  • Anticipate potential issues and develop solutions promptly.
  • Address complex challenges with professionalism and composure.
  • Oversee billing and invoicing processes to maximize profitability on each shipment.
  • Support the Import Manager in supervising the import team.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to facilitate efficient shipping and customer service operations.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-driven, capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance related to import operations.
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with Cargowise software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer.
