Plastic Surgery Physician

Position Overview:
The Plastic Surgery division at Corewell Health is actively seeking two skilled physicians to collaborate with Dr. Ronald Ford in establishing a robust reconstructive microsurgery unit. This unit will play a crucial role in the treatment of patients needing breast reconstruction, oncologic head and neck reconstruction, limb salvage, lymphedema management, and extensive oncologic reconstruction, all while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
Candidate Profile:
Ideal candidates should possess a strong interest in and have completed fellowship training in reconstructive microsurgery. They must demonstrate the ability to thrive in a collaborative setting with fellowship-trained oncologic breast surgeons and will also be expected to provide comprehensive plastic surgical care.
Educational Responsibilities:
Candidates will be involved in resident education, fostering the development of resident microsurgical skills. The Corewell Health/Michigan State University College of Human Medicine Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency program offers a collegial atmosphere with a commitment to academic excellence, numerous research opportunities, and a focus on high standards. This position provides a unique chance for a plastic surgeon at the assistant or associate professor level to cultivate and expand an academic practice while contributing to a dynamic residency program. There is potential for advancement to the role of residency associate program director.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation package includes malpractice insurance, health, dental, disability, and life insurance, along with paid time off for vacation, parental leave, illness, continuing medical education (CME), and relocation assistance.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD or DO)
- Board-eligible or Board-certified in Plastic Surgery
- Fellowship trained in Microsurgery
- Eligible for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery
