Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Business Manager - E2E.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the chance to tailor and execute the sales support strategy for your designated region, aligning with the global support framework. Your daily responsibilities will include leading, mentoring, and guiding a team of Application Engineers to ensure the delivery of technically sound and cost-efficient solutions that support customer operations. Additionally, you will leverage your expertise to foster sales growth in your region by defining and enhancing the Application team and application sales strategy. The work model for this position is remote. This role contributes to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in North America. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating with consulting engineers, end users, and EPC clients to identify electrical project requirements, provide design assistance, product selection, value engineering, budgeting, and educate stakeholders on ABB solutions to ensure their integration into project specifications.
  • Reviewing and analyzing project specifications and end-user requirements to deliver electrical solutions, including one-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, layout and equipment drawings, equipment specifications, and project budget estimates for critical power applications.
  • Serving as the local product authority in the following areas: UPS/battery systems, power conditioning, power distribution switchgear, transfer switches, and arc flash mitigation.
  • Exhibiting a strong combination of critical power systems design expertise and communication skills, enabling you to convey complex concepts to a diverse audience, including engineers, account managers, contractors, and channel partners.

Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in engineering, preferably electrical, with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the electrical distribution sector, or a master's degree with four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • PE certification is advantageous.
  • Prior field, factory, or design engineering experience in electrical power systems within data centers, hospitals, or industrial facilities.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, UL/CSA.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Candidates must possess valid work authorization to be employed by ABB in the US.
