Job Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures; calibrates and operates ultrasound equipment. Processes images and coordinates patient care with other patient services. Maintains patient records, keeps track of inventory, orders supplies and maintains proper working order of equipment. Will focus on infant, children and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed. All imaging staff must be able to address family and patient concerns to help facilitate a Family Centered Care approach.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and calibrate equipment
  • Process images and coordinate patient care with other services
  • Maintain patient records and inventory
  • Order supplies and maintain equipment
  • Focus on infant, children and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed
Requirements
  • Experience working in an acute care setting
  • Preferred: One to three years working in an acute care pediatric environment
  • Graduate from approved program of Ultrasonography
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone
Work Environment

Sedentary - Very light energy level Lift 10 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart.
