The Field Engineer plays a crucial role in assisting project Superintendents, Supervisors, and Foremen by providing precise survey layouts and technical expertise across various projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in interpreting and analyzing construction plans.
Collaboration with the project team is essential, along with proficiency in layout techniques utilizing Total Station and GPS technology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpreting and analyzing construction plans.
  • Collaborating with project leaders regarding scheduling, sequencing, and survey requirements.
  • Contributing as a member of the overall project team.
  • Executing all facets of job site layout, including benchmarks/control, initial site layout, and quality assurance.
  • Collecting and organizing as-built data while troubleshooting technical issues related to survey equipment.
  • Managing GPS-guided machinery, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Reviewing ongoing work for adherence to project specifications and drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction planning and execution.
  • Experience in general earthwork, utility installation, roadway construction, sitework, landfill construction, and/or substation construction is essential.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Experience with GPS and Total Station is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with GPS-guided equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs, stand, kneel, walk, and remain active for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
