Position Summary:
Delaware Resource Group is in search of skilled professionals for the role of Aviation Training Specialist. This position is crucial in supporting U.S. Navy Aviation Training initiatives. Candidates should possess extensive expertise in Simulator Operations to effectively train personnel in the essential skills and knowledge required for operating aviation simulation training devices. The role demands the ability to plan, organize, and execute all logistical and maintenance activities necessary to ensure that training devices are operational and ready for training sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality academic instruction aligned with formal course syllabi and instructional guidelines.
  • Provide effective aircrew training device instruction, fulfilling syllabus and mission guide requirements while adhering to established standards.
  • Maintain proficiency in aircraft and weapon systems.
  • Prepare training environments, including classrooms and simulation devices, for instructional purposes.
  • Restore classrooms or briefing areas to their original condition post-instruction.
  • Assess and document student performance in academic training and aircrew training device operations, providing verbal feedback on errors.
  • Offer remedial instruction for students as necessary.
  • Collaborate with active-duty supervisors to recommend corrective actions and additional training.
  • Conduct academic evaluations in accordance with established syllabi, ensuring accuracy by reviewing incorrect responses with students.
  • Monitor the currency of course materials and suggest updates as needed.
  • Assist in the revision of lesson plans and mission guides.
  • Support the design and programming of training device scenarios as required.
  • Analyze test results and critique summaries to identify areas needing instructional or testing revisions.
  • Coordinate input for lesson revisions with other instructors and courseware subcontractors when necessary.
  • Review maintenance literature, safety reports, and service publications for updates to incorporate into training materials.
  • Meet deadlines for new lessons and revisions.
  • Be available for student inquiries and assistance outside of scheduled instruction times.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and ensure effective communication within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Experience in aviation simulator maintenance instruction.
  • Proficient in technical report writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Adept at delivering presentations to management and clients.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Flexibility to work any shift or day of the week as required.
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an advanced civilian or military electronics program.
  • Completion of a Military Instructor Course (preferred).
  • Three to five years of experience as a Flight Simulator Operator or Maintenance Technician or equivalent.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with flight simulation equipment, including digital and analog systems.
  • Experience in practical training related to the inspection, repair, and calibration of critical solid-state devices.
  • Familiarity with commonly used concepts and practices in the Simulator Operations field.
  • Demonstrated skills in technical writing and oral communication.

Security Requirements:
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
Certifications:
  • Security + Plus or higher Certification (mandatory), or able to obtain within six months.
  • Forklift certification (as required).

  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., to identify issues or malfunctions in the simulators and surrounding environment.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
