Position Overview:

The Fund Accounting Associate will act as a key operational liaison within the department, delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of partnership accounting and have experience in financial reporting. This role also entails supervisory responsibilities, assisting team members with their tasks and managing special projects. The successful applicant must demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment where priorities frequently shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate quarterly financial statements for funds prepared by colleagues and third-party administrators.
  • Support the auditing process of fund financial statements.
  • Assist in the valuation of fund investments and portfolio companies.
  • Oversee and review cash position entries for various private equity funds.
  • Prepare and assess journal entries for multiple private equity funds.
  • Independently address and resolve client inquiries and requests.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of client outputs while overseeing administrators.
  • Manage essential functions within the department.
  • Communicate departmental objectives and initiatives to internal teams and current or prospective clients.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., or B.B.A.)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with the private equity fund services sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent analytical capabilities.
