Position Overview:
The Fund Accounting Associate acts as a key operational liaison within the department, delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of partnership accounting and have experience in financial reporting. This role also entails a degree of supervisory responsibility, aiding the team with assigned tasks and coordinating special projects. The successful applicant must communicate effectively and thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment where priorities frequently shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review quarterly financial statements for funds prepared by team members and third-party administrators.
- Assist in the auditing process of fund financial statements.
- Support the valuation of fund investments and portfolio companies.
- Maintain and evaluate cash position entries for various private equity funds.
- Prepare and assess journal entries for different private equity funds.
- Independently address and resolve client inquiries and requests.
- Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of client outputs and oversee administrators.
- Manage essential functions within the department.
- Present departmental objectives and initiatives to internal staff and current or potential clients.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., or B.B.A.)
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting or financial services environment.
- Familiarity with the private equity fund services sector is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong analytical capabilities.
