As a Private Asset Fund Accountant, you will be an integral part of our expanding Finance Team, dedicated to delivering outstanding support throughout the organization. This position emphasizes the accounting functions related to our private asset funds while also offering opportunities for broader participation within the Finance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and validate the work of third-party administrators, including reviewing calculations for investor capital calls and distributions, monitoring fund expenses, and managing quarterly portfolio valuations.
- Assist in generating fund and investor-level reports pertinent to private assets.
- Price and maintain accurate records for hedge and private equity holdings utilizing various external pricing resources.
- Conduct timely reconciliations and reports concerning Net Asset Values.
- Manage the organization of underlying investment fund documents related to capital calls, distributions, and quarterly reports.
- Review and confirm partner allocations and reporting.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, treasury processes, and credit facilities for the funds.
- Communicate transactions associated with the fund(s) and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver precise accounting packages.
- Coordinate and support various year-end audit engagements in compliance with GAAP accounting standards, acting as the record keeper for the funds.
- Assist the third-party tax preparer in the annual tax reporting process for the funds and investors.
- Engage with external investment managers, administrators, and custodians regarding daily fund activities, including reconciliations and scheduled deliverables.
- Enhance infrastructure, processes, and deliverables through increased efficiency and automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the alternatives sector within the fund services industry.
- CPA designation is advantageous.
- Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities.
- Familiarity with portfolio management and reporting systems such as Burgiss Private I or Advent Black Diamond is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to thrive in a collaborative, inclusive work culture.
- Well-organized with the ability to manage projects in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to assess open-ended requests and develop effective solutions.
- Curious and analytical thinker with a keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to expand industry knowledge by learning new concepts and systems and applying them effectively in your role.
