Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team at Motel 6. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Check-In/Check-Out: Organize, confirm, process, and conduct all guest check-ins/check-outs, room reservations, requests, changes, and cancellations.
  • Payment and Billing: Secure payment, verify and adjust billing, and compute bills.
  • Leadership and Training: Provide leadership to the team with ongoing training and coaching, and lead by example.
  • Hotel Operations: Keep abreast of hotel policies concerning room/sign rates, group and other discounts, and special offerings.
  • Guest Services: Issue room keys, identify and explain room features to guests, and supply guests with directions and information regarding property amenities, services, hours of operation, and local areas of interest.
  • Record Keeping: Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts.
  • Bookkeeping: Perform bookkeeping activities such as making cash deposits, completing daily audits, running reports, and posting payments to guest folios.
  • Guest Relations: Respond to guest comments or complaints, referring customers to the General Manager as necessary.
  • Housekeeping: Prepare housekeeping duty rosters for move-out and stay-over cleans, inspect/stock housekeeping carts for service preparedness, and inspect rooms and public areas to accepted health and safety standards for pest control.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, College Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of prior guest service experience in a hotel preferred.
  • Skills: Good people skills for dealing with both staff and guests, computer skills, and the ability to access and accurately input information into a computer system, including Microsoft Office Suite and the Hotel PMS system.
  • Personal Qualities: Friendly, cooperative manner and patience in dealing with unreasonable requests or rude customers, and a professional appearance and demeanor.
