Tax Manager

At S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Manager, Federal Tax to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state income tax returns, as well as managing the tax affairs of our domestic subsidiaries and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for the parent company, domestic entities, and the consolidated group.
- Research and gather relevant data, prepare workpapers/analysis, and utilize tax compliance software to prepare and file tax returns.
- Develop deep knowledge of income tax compliance software (Corptax) and manage the complete tax affairs of a portfolio of domestic subsidiaries and partnerships.
- Assist with non-income tax matters and function as a liaison between subsidiary personnel and the Associate Manager, Federal/Domestic Tax on sales/use, unclaimed property, and gross receipts tax matters.
- Manage tax depreciation compliance for the parent company and domestic subsidiaries.
- Perform research and work on special projects (acquisitions, divestitures, tax law changes, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, with an advanced degree (MST or JD) and/or certification as a Certified Public Accountant or military experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- 5-7 years federal income tax experience, including familiarity with current tax law and pending legislation.
- ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes and partnership tax experience is considered a definite plus, though not a prerequisite.
- Full-time position with overtime expected at certain times of the year.
- Minimal domestic travel, occasionally overnight, primarily to attend seminars or users group conferences or meet with subsidiary personnel.
- Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees.
- This role is eligible for domestic relocation.
