Job Description

Nevada State University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Worker to join our Academic Advising Center team. As a Student Worker, you will provide exceptional customer service support to our students, serving as the first point-of-contact for all inquiries, scheduling, and phone calls to the Academic Advising Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Answer phone calls, emails, text messages, and live chats to the office.
  • File and upload documents into student accounts.
  • Make copies of Academic Advising documents.
  • Greet office guests, answer questions, and direct to the proper office(s) or individual(s).
  • Data entry into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
  • Make suggestions on how to streamline a process or task that involves the Academic Advising Center.
  • Other administrative duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Work Hours: This position typically will start at 10-12 hours per week in their first semester, but will increase up to the maximum hours in subsequent semesters pending office budget. Student employees can work up to 19.5 hours per week.

Hourly Rate: $12.00 per hour.
