We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to join our team at Primrose School of Kingwood at Oakhurst.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a group of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis and implement tailored lesson plans to meet their individual requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to plan parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Maintain a well-organized and attractive classroom environment that encourages children to explore and learn.
  • Provide clear and consistent expectations for children's behavior, while offering verbal recognition and acceptance.
  • Assist with maintenance and housekeeping duties of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds.
  • Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
  • Adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Primrose School of Kingwood at Oakhurst Employee Handbook.
Requirements
  • Meet the basic requirements of the Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare.
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children is essential.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  • Infant - Preschool Teachers: 2-year degree in early childhood or a related field is preferred.
  • Pre-Kindergarten Teachers: 4-year degree in early childhood or a related field is required.
  • Kindergarten Teacher: 4-year degree in early childhood and certification to teach in the state where the school operates is required.
