Manufacturing Team Leader

OVERVIEW:
- As a Manufacturing Team Leader at Vision Achievement, Inc., you will serve as the primary leader to assist team members within your designated area. Your role will involve organizing daily operations to meet production targets and ensure the success of your team.
- The working hours for this position are from 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Encourage and expect every team member to participate in ongoing enhancements.
- Uphold a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every interaction and decision.
- Aim to minimize waste and enhance team member skills to optimize lean operations.
- Ensure that employees receive adequate training from their Team Leader or designated trainer in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S methodologies.
- Collaborate with technical staff to guarantee appropriate support.
- Set annual goals and objectives that align with operational metrics.
- Strive for process improvements and reductions in inventory and work in progress.
- Act as the first point of contact for team members regarding employee relations matters.
- Collaborate with Union Stewards on contract and disciplinary issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated ability to lead with a servant leadership approach.
- A minimum of one to three years of experience in a medium to high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical and hydraulic press operations, along with a basic understanding of die setup and maintenance, is advantageous.
- Previous experience in assembly line supervision is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be self-motivated and driven, with proven leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and supervising within a team context.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including encouraging proactive thinking and solution creation among team members.
- Basic knowledge of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban, and Lean manufacturing is preferred.
EDUCATION:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations is preferred.
- Relevant professional, internship, or co-op experience will be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The position requires prolonged sitting, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending, and minimal lifting.
MUST HAVE
- 1-3 years of experience in a medium to high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with mechanical and hydraulic press operations, along with a basic understanding of die setup and maintenance, is beneficial.
- Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring, and supervision within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Relevant professional, internship, or co-op experience will be taken into consideration.
