Elder Care Protective Services Specialist

Old Colony Elder Services is seeking a committed Protective Services Worker (PSW) to join our Protective Services division. This role involves investigating and validating claims of abuse and neglect within the senior community.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with flexible scheduling options, incorporating a hybrid work model that includes both remote and in-office responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the independent living of clients while delivering services in the most suitable and least restrictive settings.
- Perform home assessments to investigate reports of abuse, requiring travel within the service area.
- Conduct thorough investigations to assess the elder's functional capabilities, circumstances, and available resources.
- Design and execute tailored protective services plans aimed at mitigating risks and preventing abuse.
- Evaluate the necessity for court petitions for Protective Orders and refer severe abuse cases to the appropriate legal authorities.
- Provide emergency coverage for the Protective Services department outside of regular business hours.
Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for assisting others and a commitment to making a positive impact.
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of clients and programs.
- A minimum of two years of experience in human services, ideally with the elderly population or in crisis intervention.
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related discipline is highly preferred; current licensure is advantageous.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
