Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Patient Care
    • Work closely with physicians to identify and address patient care issues, providing relevant insights and implementing physician instructions for effective patient care.
    • Evaluate patient health through interviews, physical exams, and medical history reviews.
  • Diagnostic Testing and Patient Records
    • Conduct or order tests such as X-rays, EKGs, and lab studies, and interpret the results.
    • Maintain detailed patient records in electronic systems.
  • Medical Procedures and Patient Education
    • Perform various medical procedures, including administering injections, suturing, wound care, and immunizations.
    • Educate and counsel patients on treatment plans, growth and development, family planning, emotional well-being, and health maintenance.
  • Compliance and Professional Development
    • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations, with a focus on infection control.
    • Stay current with federal, state, and local laws and professional requirements, and provide guidance on necessary actions.
Requirements
  • Physician Assistant Certification
  • Licensure: Registration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/Physician Assistant Advisory (or ability to obtain licensure by the hire date).
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an outpatient primary care office, preferably family or internal medicine.
