Job Description

*This RN or LPN position is a Float role. Must be able to commute to various locations.*

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the physician and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and physician access.
  • Function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with our policy.
  • Collect lab specimens according to departmental guidelines.
  • Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures.
  • Ensure proper preparation for patient visits.
  • Effectively communicate problems, concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor/Manager.
  • Assure all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and/or documenting care.
  • Employs appropriate and timely use of Tasking in our Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Obtain vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, height & weight accurately and completely as required.
  • Administer injections according to appropriate protocol.
  • Appropriately demonstrate telephone triage protocols and document in EHR.
  • Schedule appointments appropriately and accurately according to department guidelines.
  • Adhere to universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposal of medical waste.
  • Review and update medication lists in EHR.
  • Enter orders and schedules appointments in our Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR.
  • Provide referrals and/or consult orders appropriately and in a timely manner in PMS and EHR.
  • Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment according to policy.
  • Facilitate transition of care to UCC/Hospital.
  • Maintain proficiency with department-specific equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions promptly.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Balance is maintained during climbing, bending, and/or reaching.
  • Endurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking).

  • Loud noises.
  • Vibration.
  • Extreme temperatures.
  • Confined spaces.
  • Allergens: dust, mold, and/or pollen.
  • Magnetic fields.

  • Combative Patients/Visitors.
Blood-borne Pathogens:
  • Exposure to infectious hazards, blood, body fluids, non-intact skin, or tissue specimens.
  • Contact with patients or patient specimens are possible.
  • Unplanned or unexpected exposure.
Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:
  • Associates degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • New Jersey State Nursing License and BLS certification required.
  • 0 - 1 years experience. 2-4 years experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform diverse work assignments with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to use problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority-setting skills.
  • Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
  • Experience with Standard Office Technology in a Window-based environment preferred.
  • Experience with patient care equipment preferred.
  • Experience with EHR, Practice Management System, and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.
Travel:
  • Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed.
