Job Overview:

The Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst, under the supervision of the Regulatory Reporting Manager, is tasked with the precise and timely preparation and submission of various financial regulatory documents, ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory standards, corporate policies, and generally accepted accounting principles. This role involves engaging in the development and interpretation of financial policies and regulations, as well as analyzing and providing technical insights on accounting and regulatory modifications. The Analyst will also be responsible for researching and monitoring financial data to maintain data integrity. This is a senior-level position that offers guidance and direction to other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. 60% Responsible for the preparation of designated financial regulatory reports, focusing on RC-E/HC-E: Deposits, RC-O: Other Data for Deposits, and FRY9-LP. Conduct independent investigations into discrepancies and perform variance analysis. Suggest procedural improvements to resolve issues and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting.
  2. Conduct independent research and analysis of regulatory announcements, reporting obligations, and other accounting documents. Review and interpret financial publications and regulatory updates to remain informed about changes. Present findings and recommendations to management.
  3. 15% Conduct comprehensive analyses of the impact on regulatory reports resulting from regulatory or policy changes and new product introductions. Engage in the development and execution of regulatory and accounting modifications. Coordinate the distribution of information or procedures to business units and IT groups. Collaborate with business units and/or IT groups to clarify regulatory reporting requirements and test new data to ensure timely compliance.
  4. 15% Provide expert technical guidance to Senior Management regarding the interpretation and analysis of regulatory or policy changes related to Deposits. Stay informed about ongoing external trends in the financial sector.
  5. Offer continuous advice and training on regulatory reporting matters to all levels and areas of the organization concerning Deposits and the FDIC Assessment. Ensure that regulatory reporting requirements are effectively communicated to the business units supplying source data for the reports.
  6. 10% Collaborate directly with divisional managers on significant financial and IT initiatives that affect the Regulatory Reporting function. Foster strong working relationships and effective communication with other project participants, IT groups, and software vendors.
  7. Address internal and external inquiries regarding financial data reported or filed. Provide leadership and guidance to other staff members. Undertake additional projects or responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Information:

A degree in accounting or finance is mandatory.

A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, including at least 3 years in preparing regulatory reports.

CPA or Chartered Accountant designation is highly preferred.

Experience in public accounting, particularly within the banking sector, is advantageous.

A strong, current understanding of banking regulatory reporting standards and regulations is essential.

Experience with Deposits or the FDIC Assessment Calculation is preferred.

Proficiency in Excel is required: candidates must be able to perform vlookup, sumif, count, countif, averageif, multiple if statements within a single formula, concatenate, and create pivot tables.

Ability to analyze large datasets while navigating between multiple linked workbooks is crucial.

Demonstrate a high level of accuracy in data analysis.

Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet stringent filing deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
