Position Overview

The Healthcare Assistant will deliver essential patient support under the guidance of medical professionals and senior clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Offer vital assistance to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and clinical personnel.

2. Precisely document patient medical histories and vital signs in the electronic health record.

3. Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.

4. Support medical professionals during procedures and referrals as required.

5. Inform patients about their diagnoses, medications, treatments, and necessary tests.

6. Communicate with patients regarding upcoming appointments, test results, and any concerns.

7. Collaborate with staff to maintain a seamless workflow.

8. Ensure that medical supplies are stocked and utilized appropriately in each examination room.

9. Schedule follow-up appointments for patients seen on the same day.

10. Gather relevant health information and ensure accurate transfer to the electronic health record.

11. This role includes coordinating participation in significant testing events annually, engaging with the community to enhance awareness and expand partnerships for increased testing opportunities, assisting in the creation of program materials, and recruiting program participants and Community Engagement Group members.

12. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

● Must be a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant in the state of Florida within six months of employment.

● BLS Certification required.

● Cross-trained in both front and back office operations.

● Proficient in phlebotomy.

● Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
