Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant for External Affairs to join our team at Urban Resource Institute. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our External Affairs Team, composed of Development, Marketing and Communications, and Government Affairs departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate travel arrangements for internal team members and external stakeholders.
  • Provide general administrative office support, including answering and making phone calls, typing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, and opening and distributing mail.
  • Maintain and update constituent management databases, including media, government, and donor lists.
  • Organize and maintain various files and databases, such as in-kind donations and grant submissions.
  • Manage the calendar for city and state lobbying reporting requirements.
  • Process and track contracts, invoices, and expense reports.
  • Order supplies and materials, and manage shipping and delivery as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate degree required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented problem solver with exceptional interpersonal skills and a great sense of humor.
  • High degree of cultural competence and belief in the value of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
Working Conditions
  • Works in an office environment that is well-lighted and well-ventilated.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Must lift 10 pounds at times and occasionally reach and bend.
  • Regularly required to use near-sight vision to operate a computer.
  • Regularly required to use standard office equipment, including computer and telephone.
