Position Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to become a vital part of our team, focusing on the design and development of electrical control systems for drilling applications in the Oil & Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive drawing packages including Electrical One Line Diagrams, Wiring and Interconnect Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, and Cable Indexes.
  • Design electrical subsystems and assemblies to fulfill both customer and internal specifications while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and clients to review and refine designs.
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests, electrical commissioning, and provide startup support as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance of equipment designs with applicable industry standards.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned within the scope of electrical engineering.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in control systems.
  • Familiarity with drilling equipment and applications is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and IEC standards, as well as ABS and DNV regulations.
  • Experience with hazardous area ratings for electrical equipment, including ATEX, IECEx, UL, FM, and CSA.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Experience with PLC and HMI systems is preferred.

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary.

Desirable Skills:
  • Understanding of hazardous area classifications.
  • Prior experience in designing electrical control systems.
