About the Role

The Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist (FAIS) is a critical member of the multidisciplinary Family Advocacy Program (FAP) team. This role encompasses the responsibilities of both the Treatment Manager and Outreach Manager, working in prioritized capacities to support families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess families referred for suspected maltreatment and provide treatment services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Provide voluntary, comprehensive prevention services to families through the New Parent Support Program (NPSP) to prevent maltreatment.
  • Offer Family Advocacy Strength-Based Therapy (FAST) services to individuals, families, or groups at risk for maltreatment.
  • Coordinate services for families, monitor client participation and progress, and utilize social casework, psychotherapy, and psycho-educational interventions.
  • Complete psychosocial assessments, assess for safety, and assist family members with safety planning.
  • Present findings from family assessments, CRB determinations, and recommendations for treatment.
  • Collaborate with prevention staff to develop service plans incorporating primary and secondary prevention services.
  • Conduct home visits to NPSP clients assessed as high needs and who request social work intervention.
Requirements
  • A U.S. Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited school.
  • Two years of full-time post-master's degree experience in professional clinical counseling service programs to men, women, and children who are abusive or abused.
  • Experience as a group therapy facilitator or co-leader, as well as working with children, families, and groups in clinical or community organization settings.
  • BLS Certification required prior to beginning employment.
