Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist

The Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist (FAIS) is a critical member of the multidisciplinary Family Advocacy Program (FAP) team. This role encompasses the responsibilities of both the Treatment Manager and Outreach Manager, working in prioritized capacities to prevent family maltreatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess families referred for suspected maltreatment and provide treatment to individuals, families, and groups whose maltreatment allegations met criteria for maltreatment.
- Provide voluntary, comprehensive prevention services to families to prevent the occurrence of family maltreatment through the New Parent Support Program (NPSP).
- Offer Family Advocacy Strength-Based Therapy (FAST) services to individuals, families, or groups at risk for maltreatment.
- Function as the primary treatment provider for assigned maltreatment and FAST cases, coordinating services for families and monitoring client participation and progress.
- Complete psychosocial assessments, assess for safety on an ongoing basis, and assist family members with safety planning.
- Present findings from family assessments, CRB determinations, and recommendations for treatment.
- Coordinate with prevention staff regarding referrals to educational services as part of the intervention plan.
- Collaborate with other NPSP team members to develop service plans that incorporate primary and secondary prevention services.
- Conduct home visits to NPSP clients assessed as high needs and who request social work intervention.
Responsibilities in the Outreach Component:
- Under the leadership of the FAO, the FAIS directs the development and implementation of prevention services, supporting outreach and community prevention.
Required Qualifications:
- A U.S. Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited school.
- Two years of full-time post-master's degree experience in professional clinical counseling service programs to men, women, and children who are abusive or abused.
- Experience as a group therapy facilitator or co-leader.
- Two years' experience working with children, families, and groups in clinical or community organization settings.
- Experience working with professionals and agencies that provide community support and counseling intervention services to children and families.
- BLS Certification.
