Position Title: Infant Toddler Aide

Location: Various locations across Oahu

Program and Role Summary:

Federally funded programs offer early childhood education and comprehensive services for low-income families and children with special needs. Early Head Start (EHS) provides services to prenatal parents and families with infants and toddlers, while Head Start (HS) serves children aged three to five, preparing them for school success.

The Infant Toddler Aide will implement a tailored and comprehensive early childhood education program for prenatal women, children from birth to three years, and their families within a center-based framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit behavior that aligns with the agency's mission and adheres to personnel policies and procedures.
  • Support Infant Toddler Caregivers in conducting developmental screenings.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate learning environment; responsible for the upkeep of the center's appearance, cleaning toys, and conducting daily safety checks.
  • Facilitate individualized learning opportunities for children and families.
  • Contribute to the preparation of curricula that enhance the educational experiences of children and their families.
  • Assist in delivering comprehensive center-based early childhood education services.
  • Help organize and maintain program files and required documentation in accordance with established standards.
  • Advocate for children and families to access effective and relevant comprehensive services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with children aged 0 to 3 years in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Ability to pass a criminal background check upon hire and annually thereafter.
  2. Ability to pass a CWS background check upon hire and annually thereafter.
  3. Ability to pass a National Sex Offender Registry Check upon hire and annually thereafter.
  4. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and TB test as required.
