Behavioral Support Technician/Assistant Analyst

Overview of Responsibilities

The Behavioral Support Technician is primarily tasked with executing functional behavior evaluations and crafting behavior intervention strategies based on these evaluations, under the guidance of a certified BCBA. The Assistant Analyst is responsible for ensuring the successful application of all treatment protocols and programs for their clients as outlined in the key responsibilities below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complies with professional and legal standards, applying the principles of behavior analysis while demonstrating sound professional judgment consistently.
  • Engages with families, caregivers, and all relevant service providers to guarantee seamless care.
  • Conducts both direct and indirect assessments to determine the underlying causes of client behaviors.
  • Formulates a treatment strategy (including behavior support plans) grounded in the identified functions of behavior and evidence-based treatment practices.
  • Participates in all pertinent client meetings, including treatment team discussions, IEP/ISP meetings (as appropriate), and staffing sessions, showcasing the ability to collaborate effectively within a clinical team.
  • Joins any insurance authorization review discussions for clients on their caseload.
  • Collects data prior to and during the execution of the treatment plan to evaluate its effectiveness and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Provides direct instruction, ongoing supervision, training, and support to clients, staff, and family members during scheduled visits, ensuring comprehensive engagement with each client.
  • Assesses the success of the implemented treatment plan and adjusts it as needed.
  • Upon receiving directives from the director, the Assistant Analyst will promptly initiate services for new clients.
  • Manages their caseload efficiently and submits all required documentation punctually, including assessments, treatment plans/BSPs, insurance updates, session notes, and monthly data analyses.
  • Generates reports required by funders and the organization in a timely manner.
  • Maintains regular meetings with the BCBA to uphold supervision standards and ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A BA/BS degree in a relevant field and current certification as a BCaBA from the BACB are required.
  • Eligibility to obtain LBA in the state of Kansas is necessary.
  • Ability to identify and address challenges promptly; gather and analyze data; develop alternative solutions; and collaborate effectively in problem-solving scenarios.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Proficient writing skills, with the ability to edit for grammar, spelling, and clarity; adaptable writing style to meet the needs of the agency/client; capable of explaining complex information in layman's terms to families.
  • Adherence to policies and procedures; timely completion of tasks or appropriate notification if deadlines cannot be met; support for the organization's goals and values.
  • Demonstrates original thinking and creativity; approaches challenges resourcefully; proposes improvements and develops innovative ideas.

Compensation: $40k/year (negotiable based on experience and education)
