Job Summary

Discovery Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric/pharmacological interventions to patients, consulting with program leadership, and collaborating with the treatment team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective psychopharmacological interventions for psychiatric disorders
  • Interface with families of patients to obtain consent and support for psychopharmacological interventions
  • Effectively identify, conceptualize, and communicate criteria specific to the level of treatment and formulate effective appeals for insurance carriers
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to contribute to case conceptualization, treatment planning, and assess the ongoing effectiveness of interventions
  • Meet regularly with program leadership to discuss individual treatment progress
  • Act on behalf of the treatment program when interacting with insurance companies, licensing, and accreditation bodies
  • See individual clients on a weekly basis to monitor progress
  • Document notes in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Provide second opinion evaluations when needed
  • Assist program treatment staff in treatment planning
  • Provide medical direction to the treatment team
Requirements
  • Must be a qualified psychiatrist with experience in adolescent psychiatry if indicated
  • Must be a graduate of an approved medical school and hold a current license in the state of practice
  • Must be eligible for membership in the local branch of the State Medical Society
