Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician PRN to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and OR staff members in patient care and support as ordered and prescribed by the attending surgeon, anesthesiologist, or perfusionist.
  • Perform procedures, recording, analyzing, and diagnosing various physiological monitoring functions using a variety of devices, equipment, or techniques.
  • Facilitate processes to maintain successful inventory levels and cost-effective practice of supply management by team members.
  • Demonstrate abilities and competencies in performing procedures, recording, analyzing, and diagnosing various physiological monitoring functions using invasive monitoring devices, arterial line setup, PA catheters setup and assist, cardiac output monitors setup and assist, ECG, POC testing, autologous blood recovery system, directional doppler, and other equipment relevant to the position.
  • Maintain procedural databases and follow infection control guidelines for maintaining, cleaning, and using non-disposable equipment.
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate of Science
  • 1 or more years Anesthesia Technician; or Perioperative or Procedural patient-facing clinical roles
Work Environment

This is a PRN position, requiring flexibility to pick up shifts during the M-F work week, working a minimum of 6-hour segments and preferably 20 hours/week. Open shifts will generally fall between the hours of M-F.
