Compensation Details

The annual salary for this position ranges from $132,810 to $170,556 at the SES.2 level. Please note that this range serves as a general guideline, with various factors influencing starting pay, including education and experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to deliver cyber and technical support across both unclassified and classified networks. This role involves managing security configurations, conducting self-assessments, and executing computer security initiatives. You will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address complex cyber challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Information Systems Security Owner (ISSO), responsible for developing comprehensive cyber security documentation.
  • Design and assess intricate cybersecurity solutions.
  • Conduct security tasks such as vulnerability remediation and compliance audits.
  • Verify information systems' compliance and work with system administrators to uphold security standards.
  • Oversee account authorization processes for both classified and unclassified systems.
  • Engage with clients to design secure computing environments.
  • Research and manage cybersecurity projects across various platforms.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities at SES.3 Level

  • Automate workflows and develop storyboards across multiple environments.
  • Provide technical support to users.
  • Lead cybersecurity projects.
  • Offer training and assistance to users and security personnel.
  • Evaluate current and new systems from a technical perspective.

Qualifications

  • Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or equivalent Top Secret clearance is required at the time of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in editing and testing system security plans.
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools for auditing and monitoring.
  • Ability to prioritize and resolve complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with computer security practices and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS Certification.

Security Clearance Requirements

This role necessitates an active DOE Q-level clearance or an equivalent Top Secret clearance upon hiring.
