Position Overview
We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to deliver technical expertise and support for both unclassified and classified networks, as well as standalone systems and security infrastructures. In this role, you will oversee intricate security strategies, conduct self-assessments, and manage various computer security initiatives. Regular collaboration with team members, clients, and management will be essential to effectively address complex cybersecurity challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Information Systems Security Owner (ISSO), responsible for the creation and management of comprehensive cybersecurity documentation.
- Design, assess, and implement advanced cybersecurity solutions.
- Execute computer security functions, including vulnerability remediation and compliance audits.
- Evaluate information systems to ensure adherence to security standards and collaborate with system administrators to uphold security protocols.
- Oversee authorization processes for unclassified and classified accounts.
- Engage with clients to shape their computing environments and security management strategies.
- Research and manage cybersecurity projects across various platforms.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Additional Responsibilities at Advanced Level
- Automate workflows and develop storyboards across multiple environments.
- Provide technical support to the user community.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives and projects.
- Deliver training and assistance to users and security personnel.
- Conduct evaluations of current and emerging systems.
Qualifications
- Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or equivalent Top Secret clearance at the time of hire.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in editing and evaluating system security plans.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools for auditing and compliance verification.
- Ability to prioritize and resolve complex issues in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
- Familiarity with computer security practices and protocols.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SANS Certification.
