Position Overview:
The Commercial Tire Center Manager is accountable for overseeing a BestDrive retail outlet. This role involves managing daily operations, crafting strategies to enhance customer service, boosting sales, increasing profitability, and fostering business growth. As the primary point of contact at the location, the manager is responsible for operational and personnel management. The manager will collaborate with the sales team to engage local fleets and tire users, promoting new tires, retreads, and tire services. Essentially, you will be managing a small business with a robust company and brand supporting you. You will lead and guide your team, making operational and staffing decisions while ensuring exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily store operations, manage staff, and oversee inventory.
- Ensure all staff functions are performed to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining the financial integrity of the company.
- Achieve annual and monthly sales and production targets to ensure profitability.
- Safeguard assets within your area of responsibility, including inventory, accounts receivable, trucks, and equipment, with the aim of minimizing operating costs.
- Recruit, train, develop, and motivate your team members.
- Familiarize yourself with the existing business operating system for billing sales channels.
- Maintain an acceptable profit margin.
- Enhance staff performance through coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations.
- Perform various manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting, standing, bending, and squatting.
- Manage all safety, health, and environmental processes by conducting safety meetings and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws.
- Develop effective sales strategies to enhance profitability.
- Solicit commercial truck tire accounts in the store and surrounding areas.
- Responsible for the sale of new truck tires, retreads, and services.
- Maintain relationships with current accounts through regular sales calls and follow-ups.
- Assist in quarterly inventory management while ensuring product security and control measures.
- Be available to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- 5 years of experience in managing and leading teams or projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College Degree.
- 7+ years of experience in the tire industry.
- 7+ years of experience in management and leadership roles.
- 3+ years in retail tire sales.
- TIA Certification.
- Knowledge of retread tires.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday and evening shifts as needed.
- This position involves working in various indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to heat and cold.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
- Must handle hazardous materials and wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Regularly lift 50-75 lbs; may occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
