Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Engineer

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Engineer to join our team in Acton, Massachusetts.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced engineer to apply instrumentation and monitoring skills to projects involving dams, dikes, earth retaining structures, landfills, coal combustion residual impoundments, active construction sites, landslide, and other civil and geotechnical projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geotechnical and environmental field investigations
  • Design, install, and manage instrumentation and monitoring systems
  • Develop and implement data management solutions
  • Evaluate instrumentation data and provide recommendations
  • Manage long-term instrumentation and monitoring projects
  • Perform engineering calculations and review data
  • Support design, permitting, and construction quality assurance for various non-instrumentation projects
  • Review and interpret geotechnical data
  • Develop construction documents and reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering
  • At least 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with instrumentation and monitoring tools and data management software
  • Regular fieldwork and overnight travel
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
