About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal User Experience Designer to join our Central Science Team within Amazon's People Experience and Technology organization (PXTCS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining, articulating, and championing the future vision for employee-facing experiences at Amazon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver complex design solutions where product strategy may not be fully defined
  • Analyze customer problems and data to design delightful solutions at scale
  • Lead strategic alignment across teams using expertise in UX disciplines and processes
  • Create user-centered designs through research, analysis, and close collaboration with product and business partners
  • Quickly generate user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to conceptualize new initiatives
  • Clearly communicate design work to leadership and across different audiences
  • Mentor other designers and raise the bar for design quality
  • Apply systems-level design thinking to drive scalable solutions
About the Team

The Central Science Team uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, machine learning, and design to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements that simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, well-being, and value of work to Amazonians.

Requirements
  • 10+ years of design experience
  • Available online portfolio
  • Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design
  • Experience in life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $147,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $244,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
