Safety and Security Coordinator

Latino Outdoors is in search of observant, dependable, and detail-oriented individuals with exceptional communication and customer service abilities for the role of part-time/as-needed Safety and Security Coordinator. The Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures by conducting regular patrols, monitoring activities, and reporting to the Facilities Supervisor and Senior Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting thorough patrols and observations, providing detailed reports to the Facilities Supervisor and Senior Director of Operations.
- Delivering exemplary customer service and support to all guests, staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Maintaining an in-depth understanding of organizational policies and procedures, enforcing them as necessary.
- Documenting daily activities and incidents in a comprehensive Daily Log.
- Addressing complaints and requests for assistance, determining the appropriate response.
- Responding effectively to emergency situations both within and outside the organization.
- Assisting with access control and managing deliveries.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor and Senior Director of Operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in security within a cultural or outdoor institution is preferred.
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to maintain professionalism and composure in dynamic environments.
- Strong communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and respond swiftly while communicating verbally throughout the shift.
- Competence in crowd management by providing clear instructions and guidance.
- Current Guard Card certification through BSIS.
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
This position is part-time/as-needed, with a strong preference for availability on Fridays. Compensation is set at $16/hour. Employees benefit from complimentary access to various cultural institutions and outdoor activities.
