Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols across all FHCSD facilities to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Perform thorough inspections of both the exterior and interior of sites, coordinating with site management as necessary.
- Prevent potential HIPAA violations through diligent monitoring during patrols, and report findings to site leadership and security management.
- Utilize surveillance systems and smart devices to identify and address security or safety concerns effectively.
- Respond to and resolve any security incidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Employ de-escalation techniques to manage aggressive behavior from patients or visitors, ensuring a safe environment for all.
- Assist in traffic management and safety measures during major events for staff and attendees.
- Engage in mandatory drills and training exercises to enhance preparedness.
- Guide staff, patients, visitors, and vendors to safety during emergencies (e.g., fire, earthquake, bomb threat).
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, facilitating access for emergency responders and providing necessary incident details.
- Oversee parking security across FHCSD locations.
- Support administrative functions related to security access for employees, vendors, and contractors.
- Manage various security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, fire alarms, and data reporting tools.
- Conduct regular maintenance and testing of emergency equipment according to a set schedule.
- Handle after-hours emergency calls as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Certifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in security roles, such as security officer, military police, or law enforcement.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience that meet state or federal certification standards are acceptable.
- Must possess a valid California driver's license and meet specific driving requirements.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for daily duties.
- Successful completion of CPR and First Aid training, as well as obtaining a California Guard Card, is required within the first 30 days of employment.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism in emergency situations.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Familiarity with security software and basic computer skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills to interact courteously with staff, patients, and visitors.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position involves various physical activities, including frequent walking, standing, and the ability to lift and carry items of varying weights. Exposure to potential hazards such as bloodborne pathogens and environmental elements is possible. Personal protective equipment will be provided as necessary.
In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, we share that the base pay for this position is $25.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience, ensuring fairness and equity within our team.
