Position: Supply Procurement Specialist

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, this role is accountable for sourcing supplies, materials, and equipment at competitive rates for the city.

  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Effectively communicate with vendors and city staff.
  • Analyze specifications, prepare bidding documents, and assess responses.
  • Manage and access information within the financial system.
  • Oversee contracts, resolve conflicts, and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Facilitate training sessions for city personnel regarding procurement protocols.
  • Generate purchase orders, explore supply sources, and compile reports as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of state laws, local government regulations, and purchasing guidelines.
  • Knowledge of pricing systems, vendor networks, and product trends.
  • Capability to draft equipment specifications and negotiate agreements.
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in office technology and tasks such as data entry.

Qualifying Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, along with a minimum of two years of experience in procurement or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check, is required for employment.
