Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Specialist with the State of Rhode Island, you will play a critical role in providing direct care and treatment to severely and chronically mentally disabled patients in a secure forensic treatment setting. This is an advanced paraprofessional class in the direct patient care hierarchy, requiring a high level of skill and expertise in mental health care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and treatment to patients with severe and chronic mental disabilities
• Work in a secure forensic treatment setting to ensure patient safety and well-being
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Utilize evidence-based practices to promote patient recovery and independence

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in a related field (e.g. psychology, social work, nursing)
• Experience working with mentally disabled patients in a secure treatment setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
