Overview

Camp Fire Alaska is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as summer camp counselors. Our camp provides a unique opportunity for young people to develop essential life skills, build confidence, and create lifelong friendships in a fun and supportive environment.

Job Summary

We are currently hiring for various positions, including Full Time Cabin Counselor, Lead Cabin Counselor, Core Counselor, Lifeguard Core Counselor, Nature and Arts Core Counselor, and Field Trip and Recreation Core Counselor. As a counselor, you will be responsible for providing supervision and guidance to groups of campers, participating in a variety of activities, and assisting with the day-to-day tasks needed to run the camp.

Responsibilities
  • Provide minute-to-minute supervision of campers while working with other counselors and specialists to participate in and facilitate a variety of camp activities.
  • Assist with day-to-day tasks needed to run the camp, such as planning and leading activities, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, and supporting staff and camper needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve camp goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Age 16 or older required to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Prior experience working at an outdoors camp preferred.
  • Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for these positions ranges from $17.07/hour to $21.55/hour DOE, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a range of benefits, including:
