Job Overview:

Camp Fire Alaska offers a unique opportunity to work in rural Alaska communities, delivering summer day camp programs to youth, teens, families, and elders.

Job Summary:

This position involves traveling to rural communities throughout Alaska, developing and implementing daily program activities, and fostering strong relationships among campers, families, elders, and community members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging program activities that promote healthy life choices, reduce high-risk behaviors, and encourage youth and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with local contacts to ensure activities align with the community's current needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and report program outcomes to Camp Fire Alaska leadership.
  • Participate in leadership meetings to identify staff and program needs, develop successful programming, and evaluate program effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required; 21 preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from a nationally recognized provider(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with diverse populations in an overnight camp or cultural exchange setting.
  • Professional Rescuer or Wilderness First Aid (WFR) Certification.
  • Current Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized provider(s), which includes Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED & First Aid Certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, education, outdoor recreation, sociology, social work, nursing, or another related field.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $32,400 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and a pay rate of $15.88 per hour.
