Rural Alaska Travel Camp Staff

About the Role:

Camp Fire Alaska is seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team as a Rural Travel Camp Staff member.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to rural communities throughout Alaska to deliver summer day camp programs to youth, teens, families, and elders.
  • Develop and implement daily program activities, including team building, sports and games, cold water safety and swimming, outdoor recreation, and community events.
  • Work closely with local contacts to ensure activities align with the community's current needs.
  • Reside in assigned rural communities and participate in evening Teen/Family Night programs or community events.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required; 21 preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from a nationally recognized provider(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with diverse populations in an overnight camp or cultural exchange setting.
  • Professional Rescuer or Wilderness First Aid (WFR) Certification.
  • Current Lifeguard Certification from a nationally recognized provider(s), which includes Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED & First Aid Certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, education, outdoor recreation, sociology, social work, nursing, or another related field.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $32,400 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and a pay rate of $15.88 per hour.
