About This Position

We are seeking an Archery Instructor to join our team at our day camp located in Anchorage on the campus of Alaska Pacific University. As an Archery Instructor, you will provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to staff and campers during Archery lessons and camp activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality archery instruction to campers of varying skill levels.
  • Develop and lead engaging archery activities that promote teamwork, problem-solving, and physical activity.
  • Supervise campers during archery lessons and ensure their safety.
  • Collaborate with other instructors to plan and implement age-appropriate activities consistent with campers' needs and abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, recreation, outdoor leadership) or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification in archery instruction from a nationally recognized provider (e.g., USA Archery, National Archery Association).
  • Experience working with youth and adults in a camp or recreational setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and participate in physically demanding activities.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $22.50 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:

  • A bonus for completing the full season.
  • A competitive hourly rate.

Work Schedule

This is a seasonal position, with work dates from May 5th to August 8th. The work schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, between camp hours of 7am-6pm.
