We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist PRN to join our team at Saint Joseph Health System. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for mammograms by transporting them between waiting and exam rooms, ensuring proper identification and introducing yourself to the patient.
- Assist patients with gowning and dressing, explain the procedure, and position them for quality studies while being aware of their anxiety level and discomfort.
- Obtain necessary clinical information from patients and/or their charts and record it.
- Set priorities and demonstrate the ability to facilitate patient care.
- Perform quality control duties, including obtaining sensitometer strips and checking with densitometers to ensure acceptable limits before performing mammography studies.
- Participate in unit activities, including division and staff meetings.
- Maintain professional and technological competencies, as well as requirements such as CPR and TB testing.
- Assist in training and proctoring mammography technologists.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and a licensed Radiographer in the state of Indiana.
- Earned the advanced certificate in mammography from the ARRT, or completed a training course in mammography and will be taking the ARRT advanced certificate in mammography within 60 days.
- Minimum of one year as a Radiologic Technologist. One year of experience in mammography preferred.
