T. Marzetti Company, a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty food products, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corporation, we operate in the retail and foodservice markets, supplying top restaurant chains in the United States.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and experienced Maintenance Technician to work alongside our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial manufacturing equipment maintenance, preferably in the food industry.

Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance support to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment.
  • Learn and demonstrate competency in machine setup within 90 days.
  • Complete daily paperwork and walk-through items, understanding their importance.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, HAACP, 5S, and OSHA support programs.
  • Identify and address potential problems before they result in downtime or hazards.
  • Assist in major overhauls of plant equipment and perform minor repairs.
  • Lubricate machinery with correct lubricants and change drive belts, timing belts, and other parts.
  • Change filters and oils in plant equipment and maintain water chemistry in necessary systems.
  • Identify and replace bearings and seals as required.
  • Maintain company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity in the plant area.
  • Perform minor repairs to coders and labelers and maintain basic understanding of refrigeration systems.
  • Read and explain PID drawings and maintain, clean, and inspect HVAC units.
  • Maintain, repair, track, and adjust conveyor belts and identify and install piping.
  • Repair and replace electric motors, vari-drives, speed reducers, vacuum pumps, and product pumps.
  • Weld on carbon and stainless steel and set up and operate tools such as drill presses or grinders.
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities

Apply food safety and quality principles as described in the Marzetti Corporate Food Safety and Quality Manual and internal Marzetti Frozen Pasta policies, training, and procedures in all applicable aspects of departmental and job functions.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required; 2-year degree from technical school preferred.
  • 1-3 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • BASIC mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools are required.
Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, grasp, and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift (sometimes longer) with occasional breaks. May be required to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. May need to work in small, confined spaces at times that are not permit required. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs and hairnets are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
