Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented and experienced maintenance technician to work alongside our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial manufacturing maintenance, preferably in the food industry, and be able to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes.
Responsibilities- Provide maintenance support to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment
- Learn and demonstrate competency on machine setup within 90 days
- Complete daily paperwork and walk-through items, understanding their importance
- Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, HAACP, 5S, and OSHA support programs
- Identify and address potential problems before they result in downtime or hazards
- Assist in major overhauls of plant equipment and perform minor repairs
- Lubricate machinery with correct lubricants, change drive belts, timing belts, and other parts
- Change filters and oils in plant equipment, replace bearings and seals as needed
- Maintain water chemistry in necessary systems, clean and inspect HVAC units
- Repair and replace electric motors, vari-drives, speed reducers, vacuum pumps, and product pumps
- Weld on carbon and stainless steel, set up and operate tools to make or repair parts
- High school diploma or GED certificate required; 2-year degree from technical school preferred
- 1-3 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry
- Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud, and earplugs and hairnets are required.
