The University of California is seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team on a per diem basis. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the readiness of anesthesia service areas, ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain anesthesia service areas, including operating rooms, pre-op, and PACU facilities, in a state of readiness for use by anesthesiologists and anesthetists.
- Ensure the proper functioning of anesthesia equipment and supplies, adhering to infection control, health, and safety policies.
- Work independently, acting as a preceptor when necessary, and demonstrate a commitment to knowledge and compliance with departmental policies.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Anesthesia Support Services and the OR manager to ensure seamless workflow and efficient operations.
- One year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of medical/surgical and anesthetic terminology.
- Ability to work independently, with good organizational skills, and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate small equipment and ability to work in confined spaces.
- Flexibility to work and orient at all UCSF Health locations.
- Certification as an Anesthesia Technician.
