At Developmental Disabilities Institute, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs in achieving their goals and living fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Assist individuals in developing and implementing individualized plans to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with Autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support and services are provided to individuals.
  • Document progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for individuals, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid New York State driver's license and ability to obtain DDI-approved driver status.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety guidelines and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
