About the Role

As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a vital role in safeguarding patient health and ensuring a safe environment within our healthcare system. You will be responsible for implementing and upholding infection prevention protocols across various departments and ministries.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Infection Prevention leadership and peers to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide expert consultative services on infection prevention practices to enhance the quality of patient care and minimize healthcare-associated infections.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based infection control programs tailored to specific departments and ministries within our organization.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of potential outbreaks or incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Educate and train staff on best practices for infection prevention, promoting a culture of safety and awareness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • National Certification in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) required within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in healthcare or public health settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Infection Control and Prevention or Epidemiology.
