About the Role
As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a vital role in safeguarding patient health and ensuring a safe environment within our healthcare system. You will be responsible for implementing and upholding infection prevention protocols across various departments and ministries.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Infection Prevention leadership and peers to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Provide expert consultative services on infection prevention practices to enhance the quality of patient care and minimize healthcare-associated infections.
- Develop and implement evidence-based infection control programs tailored to specific departments and ministries within our organization.
- Conduct thorough investigations of potential outbreaks or incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Educate and train staff on best practices for infection prevention, promoting a culture of safety and awareness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
- National Certification in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) required within one year of hire.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in healthcare or public health settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Laboratory Science, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Infection Control and Prevention or Epidemiology.
