Position Overview:

  • Provide support to the Optical Fiber Manufacturing facility in Claremont.
  • Deliver technical assistance in the domain of Facilities.
  • Assist in the production of optical fiber, focusing on the management of Facilities equipment, including HVAC systems, chillers, air compressors, process water systems, and high purity gas delivery systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding the storage and transportation of hazardous waste from production areas to designated waste storage locations.
  • Collaborate with technical personnel from various departments to address daily operational challenges.
  • Initiate and implement projects aimed at enhancing equipment reliability.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and ISO14001 Environmental Management System guidelines.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.
Required Skills and Attributes:
  • Proficient data analysis capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic statistical tools.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
  • Enthusiastic team player.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Educational Background:
  • A relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
Additional Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of chiller maintenance and optimization.
  • Familiarity with pollution control equipment such as baghouses and scrubbers.
  • Experience in maintaining and optimizing compressors.
  • Understanding of high purity piping and gas delivery systems.
  • Experience with fire detection systems.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
